Our Libraries, Our Future is a community-led effort supporting the November 2026 Garland County Public Library millage proposal and the opportunity to build a stronger library system for our entire county.

Garland County is growing and changing, but access to library services has not kept pace. Today, one main library serves a county of more than 100,000 residents spread across hundreds of square miles. The proposed millage will support a new main library and expanded branch locations, bringing library resources, programs, technology, and gathering spaces closer to residents throughout Garland County.

This is about more than buildings. Our libraries help children develop a love of reading, give students places to learn and explore, connect families with programs and resources, provide technology and information to people who need it, support job seekers and entrepreneurs, and create welcoming spaces where neighbors can come together. A stronger countywide library system means more people can benefit from those opportunities, regardless of where in Garland County they live.

The proposed 0.9-mill levy will provide dedicated funding for these long-term capital investments. It is separate from the library’s existing operating millage and is tied to the repayment of bonds used to build the facilities.

Our Libraries, Our Future brings together Garland County residents who believe accessible, modern libraries are an investment in literacy, learning, opportunity, and community. By expanding from one primary location toward a truly countywide system, we have an opportunity to build library services that reach more of our neighbors today and serve Garland County for generations to come.
